Lighthouse Coloring Page

The lighthouse beam turns slowly and sweeps across the horizon again and again, marking a fixed point for anyone looking out at the sea from far away. It usually stands at the tip of a cliff or on rocks where the waves crash hard, in a spot so remote that almost no one reaches it on foot. Inside, a staircase spirals all the way to the top, where someone once lit the lamp by hand and now it switches on by itself as darkness falls. Around it, grasses that withstand the salty wind tend to grow, and birds nest in the rocky ledges for shelter. At night, ships passing nearby look for that light to know where not to steer.
