River Coloring Page

A river never sounds quite the same twice: it changes depending on whether there are stones breaking the current, a calm stretch, or a narrower spot where the water hurries along. Reeds and tall grasses often grow near the banks, and that is where insects tend to skim the surface without sinking. Some fish stay still against the current, barely moving their fins to hold their place, and every so often one leaps and lands again with a brief splash. The current carries leaves, twigs, and sometimes an object that spins slowly before drifting away downstream. While coloring this page, try several shades of blue and green for the current, and add a touch of white where the water hits the stones.
