Volcano Coloring Page

A volcano is easy to recognize by its cone shape, with slopes rising steadily toward an opening at the top. Sometimes a thin column of steam or smoke drifts out and spreads slowly through the air, especially during the cooler morning hours. The lower slopes are often covered in plants and shrubs, while near the summit the ground turns darker and rockier, with wavy, rough surfaces underfoot. A marked silence usually surrounds the area, broken only by wind passing between the stones or by a bird nesting in a crack in the rock. While coloring this page, try grays and browns for the rock and let the smoke look soft, almost see-through.
