Antonyms Game for Kids: Learning Opposite Words
Look at the word on screen and tap the option that means the opposite.
Learning antonyms helps kids expand their vocabulary and think in pairs of opposite concepts. In this game they see a word (hot, happy, big...) and pick the opposite word from several illustrated options. Each session has short rounds, no time pressure, designed for play at their own pace.
Three levels to follow development: Easy with 4 basic pairs for the youngest, Medium with 8 pairs for those with more vocabulary, and Hard with all 12 pairs for older kids who enjoy a language challenge.

Frequently asked questions
What age can kids start?
From age 3 with the Easy level featuring 4 basic pairs like hot/cold, day/night, happy/sad and fast/slow — concrete opposites the child already intuits from daily life. The Medium level adds 4 more pairs (high/low, open/closed, full/empty and wet/dry) and is designed for kids 4 to 6 with a broader vocabulary. The Hard level brings in the last 4 pairs (clean/dirty, young/old, in/out) and is ideal for kids 5 to 8 who already handle abstract concepts. Each answer comes with visual illustrations to reinforce word meaning and help those who can't read fluently yet.
How does it work?
A word appears on screen along with an illustration (for example, 'big' with an elephant) and the child has to tap the opposite word among the 4 available options, also with their corresponding pictures. If correct, they score a point, hear a positive sound and automatically advance to the next round. If wrong, the right answer briefly highlights as a visual hint without penalizing the score. A voice reads the word at the start of each round to reinforce word-picture association, which especially helps kids learning to read. The illustrations are kid-friendly cartoon style designed for the concept to be instantly recognizable.
How many rounds per session?
Each session has 10 rounds, enough for the child to practice the level's available pairs without getting tired. In the Easy level with 4 pairs, words repeat several times during the session, reinforcing memorization. In Medium (8 pairs) and Hard (12 pairs) the variety is greater and each round can bring a different pair. At the end the summary shows how many they got right out of the total and Momo the mascot appears celebrating. They can replay the same level, move to the next, or quit and come back later: progress saves on the device. This is a great game to play alongside an adult who can explain new concepts.
