Counting Game for Kids: Learn Numbers Visually

Look at the objects on screen and pick how many there are from 5 options.

Counting objects is one of the foundational skills in early math learning. In this game, kids see a number of images on screen (fruits, animals, toys, etc.) and pick the right number from 5 options. Each session has 10 rounds with progressive difficulty. The mechanic is simple, no time pressure, designed for kids to learn at their own pace.

Three levels to follow development: Easy with up to 5 objects for the youngest, Medium with up to 10 objects for those counting confidently, and Hard with up to 20 objects for older kids who know their numbers. Each level has 5 answer options close to the correct value, training visual discrimination of quantities.

What do kids learn by counting?

  • Number recognition from 1 to 20
  • One-to-one correspondence (each object = one number)
  • Visual discrimination of close quantities
  • Concentration and methodical counting
  • Confidence with numbers before formal math

Frequently asked questions

What age can kids start?

From age 3 with the Easy level showing up to 5 objects per screen. At this age kids begin to recognize small quantities and associate the written number symbol with the amount of objects they see. The Medium level (up to 10 objects) works from age 4-5 once they confidently count to 10 and recognize the written numeral. The Hard level (up to 20 objects) is designed for kids ages 6 to 8 who already master numbers up to 20 and are starting to count by twos or fives. The progression is designed so the same child can use the site for years, advancing levels when ready and never sooner.

How does it work?

X images appear on screen (e.g., 7 apples) and the child has to pick the number 7 from the 5 options shown below. If correct, they score a point and advance with the Next button to move to the next round. If wrong, the right answer is highlighted and they can continue without penalty: the goal is learning by counting, not getting frustrated. At the start of each round a friendly voice reads the question aloud, so kids who can't read yet can also play independently. Objects rotate randomly across 5 themes (fruits, animals, toys, space and sweets) to keep things engaging.

How many rounds per session?

Each session has 10 rounds, an amount designed to be enough to train the skill without tiring the child. At the end a summary shows how many they got right out of the total and the celebration modal with Momo the mascot appears. They can replay the same level to improve their score, switch to a different level for more challenge, or quit and come back later: progress saves automatically on the device. Each correct answer also adds to the unlocked stickers gallery, which motivates kids to keep playing session after session without it feeling like a repetitive task.
