They all share the same underlying loop: try, hit a wall, go back, try something else. In the maze it is literal — the character will not walk through the wall, so you have to return to the last fork. In the puzzle, the piece that looked right does not fit. In tangram, the shape only drops in once you rotate it.
That is why they are grouped here rather than by topic. A child who gets hooked on mazes tends to get hooked on tangram too, even though one is about paths and the other about shapes. If they just finished one, the next one over is a good bet.
Where to start
- First time: memory with few cards, and mazes on easy.
- Solving without help: 16-piece puzzles and the jigsaw puzzle.
- Wants a challenge: tangram and tic-tac-toe against the computer.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to sign up or download anything?
No. Open the browser and play. We do not ask for an email or any details about the child.
Does it work on the classroom interactive whiteboard?
Yes. They work with a finger on the board and with a mouse, and there is nothing to install on the school computer.
What ages are these for?
Each game starts at a different level: memory and puzzles have low-piece modes, while tangram and tic-tac-toe start higher up. They are built for the 2 to 8 range.
