Deep in a narrow tunnel, the mining robot moves forward with its helmet lights on, barely lighting up the stone walls around it. Its main arm ends in a spinning tool that strikes the rock at a steady pace, and each strike releases a thin cloud of dust that floats in the air for a moment. The wheels or treads on its legs roll slowly over the uneven ground, adjusting to every loose stone. Every so often it stops, turns its head to one side, and moves forward again along another path. Choose dark, earthy tones for the body and bright colors only for the lights, or try mixing different grays to give a sense of worn metal. At the end of the tunnel, it always finds a wider space to stop in.
