A lobster walks along the seafloor on several thin legs while sweeping its long antennae from side to side, feeling out the ground before moving forward. It prefers to stay tucked between rocks and crevices for much of the day, coming out to look for food once the light fades, moving slowly among stones covered in seaweed. Its two front claws are not alike: one is usually thicker and stronger, the other thinner and sharper, each suited to different things. When it feels threatened, it snaps its tail forward hard and shoots backward through the water, pulling away in a single motion. Its shell is hard and covered with small ridges and points across the whole surface.
