A baby elephant hasn't quite learned to use his trunk yet, and sometimes steps on it by accident while walking beside his mother. He likes dipping it in the mud and then swinging it around, splashing anyone standing nearby. His big ears flap like fans whenever it gets hot, and every so often he flaps them hard to shoo away some annoying insect. When he wants to play, he bumps his head against other young elephants and then dashes off in clumsy circles. He loves wading into the water up to his knees and staying there splashing for a good while, raising his trunk to shoot little sprays upward. When he gets tired, he leans against his mother's legs and stays still, trunk curled inward. For this page, try grays with lighter touches in the folds of the skin.
