About Lotus Flower Coloring Page for Ages 6 and Up
On the still surface of a pond, a lotus flower opens its petals in layers, one row resting against the next until they form a wide cup. The water around the stem barely moves, and sometimes a single drop sits trapped on a round leaf floating nearby without soaking in. The stem rises straight up from the bottom of the water and holds the flower well above the surface, as if keeping it away from the mud below. Toward evening, the outer petals close slowly back toward the center, wrapping around whatever is left inside until the next day. For this coloring page, try soft tones for each layer of petals and pick a contrasting color for the water so the flower stands out against the surface.
